Notre histoire
During the 50thAnniversary of the CCG College in September 2015, Louis Guimond and Anthony Patterson hosted a meeting to discuss the feasibility of creating an alumni association for the Coast Guard College. There was a lot of support for the idea among those who were there.
The initial Board consisted of Linda LeBlanc, Louis Guimond and Anthony Patterson but ultimately 28 former grads joined the Working Group, which met exclusively through correspondence

Established on September 7, 2015 and wound up on April 10, 2017, the Working Group accomplished its goals of working with graduates of the Coast Guard College to define the mandate and establish the structure of the Alumni Association. It was noted that the Association was incorporated Federally on December 7, 2016 and special recognition was given to David Parkes, Linda LeBlanc, Louis Guimond and Miriam van Roosmalen for their tireless efforts to ensure that the Working Group achieved its objectives.
The Inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Alumni Association was held on June 12, 2017 in the Highland Boardroom at the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney NS at 14 :00 (L).
On June 12th, the Canadian Coast Guard College Alumni Association thanked the Interim Board and the Working Group for their efforts to establish the « Association ».
Articles of Incorporation establish the minimum number of Directors at 1 and the maximum at 11. With seven (7) nominations put forward for the inaugural Board of Directors, the membership was asked to accept by acclamation the full roster of nominees.

Mr. Terry McCluskey is installed as the Honorary First Member of the Canadian Coast Guard Alumni Association.
At the meeting of the Board of Directors on September 11, 2017, were appointed officers of the Corporation to hold office for a term of one (1) year or until a successor is appointed, whichever occurs first:

Following an invitation from the President of the Board, René Grenier agreed on 10 October 2017 to join the Board of Directors.
The Treasurer having opened a bank account, a post office box and an e-mail address facilitated the paying of dues who launched the system in March 2018.
Lors du 50e anniversaire du Collège de la GCC en septembre 2015, Louis Guimond et Anthony Patterson avons organisé une réunion pour discuter de la faisabilité de créer une association d'anciens élèves pour le Collège de la Garde côtière. Il y avait beaucoup de soutien à l'idée parmi ceux qui étaient là.
Le conseil d'administration initial était composé de Linda LeBlanc, Louis Guimond et Anthony Patterson, mais 28 anciens diplômés se sont joints au groupe de travail qui s'est réuni exclusivement par correspondance.

Établi le 7 septembre 2015 et achevé le 10 avril 2017, le groupe de travail a atteint son objectif de travailler avec les diplômés du Collège de la Garde côtière pour définir le mandat et établir la structure de l'Association des anciens. Il a été noté que l'Association a été constituée le 7 décembre 2016 au niveau fédéral et que David Parkes, Linda LeBlanc, Louis Guimond et Miriam van Roosmalen ont été reconnus pour leurs efforts inlassables visant à s'assurer que le groupe de travail atteigne ses objectifs.
L'assemblée générale annuelle inaugurale (AGA) de l'Association des anciens a eu lieu le 12 juin 2017 dans la salle de conférence Highland du Collège de la Garde côtière canadienne à Sydney, en Nouvelle-Écosse, à 14 :00 (L).
Le 12 juin 2017, l’Association des ancien(ne)s du Collège de la Garde côtière canadienne tient à remercier le Conseil intérimaire et le groupe de travail pour leurs efforts assidus afin de créer notre « Association ».
Les articles d’incorporation prescrivent un minimum d’un (1) directeur allant jusqu’à un maximum de onze (11) directeurs. Puisque nous avons sept candidats pour ce premier Conseil d’administration, une motion est déposée afin de nommer par acclamation tous les candidats proposés.

À la réunion du Conseil d'administration du 11 septembre 2017, les membres du conseil d'administration de la Société ont été nommés pour un mandat d'un (1) an ou jusqu'à ce qu'un successeur soit nommé, selon la première éventualité:

Suite à une invitation du Président du Conseil, René Grenier accepta le 10 octobre 2017 de se joindre au Conseil.
Le Trésorier ayant ouvert un compte bancaire, une boîte postale et un adresse courriel, c’est en payant leur dû que les membres du Conseil d’administration ont rôdé le système en mars 2018.
